Another Beautiful Lady for Our Time

The more I have prayed the more I see who the great patrons of our time have become for Hannah’s Tears.  One of them of course is Servant of God Elisabeth Leseur the other beautiful lady is Mother Luisita.  The more you reach out to these beautiful ladies the more you will agree with me that they are our guide in a time of great suffering.  Go to them for intercession you will be delighted at how quickly they will come to your aide.

Born to a pious and wealthy family Maria Luisa de la Pena was born in Atotonilco el Alto, Jalisco Mexico on June 21, 1866, the first surviving of fourteen children. Married to Dr Pascual Rojas. They had no children of their own, but both worked tirelessly for the poor, building their own hospital. Widowed after 14 years of marriage. Entered the Carmel of Guadalajara, Mexico.

Born June 21, 1866

Died February 11,1937
feast of Our Lady of Lourdes

Yes, let us bless Our Lord because He has allowed us to become so very poor. No doubt this lack of even the necessary means of support will help us all to grow spiritually. All we have to do is gladly accept the privations and rigors that poverty brings us. I know that God will only allow what is more beneficial for us to happen. ~ Ven. Mother Luisita

PROMOTE THE CAUSE FOR Servant of God – ELISABETH LESEUR!

Today is actually in memory of Elisabeth as she is not yet a recognized saint.  So, we must promote her cause daily with our prayers and devotions.  Thank you for doing all that you can in honor of this holy woman!

Elisabeth suffered many pains, one of them being infertility and a childless home. Her other great sufferings were her husband’s unbelief in God.  She by her great love for God and the Church offered her physical, emotional and spiritual sufferings to Christ Jesus Crucified to win back her husbands soul from the great errors of atheism she united her heart to our Trinitarian God.  She never once questioned the unique call that she was given by Our Lord.  She embraced her cross with humility and love, just as Christ Jesus did for all of us.

Elisabeth Leseur
Quotes from My Spirit Rejoices
“My present trial seems to me a somewhat painful one, and I have the humiliation of knowing how badly I bore it at first. I now want to accept and to carry this little cross joyfully, to carry it silently, with a smile in my heart and on my lips, in union with the Cross of Christ. My God, blessed be Thou; accept from me each day the embarrassment, inconvenience, and pain this misery causes me. May it become a prayer and an act of reparation.”

Special Devotions ~ Patrons for those struggling with infertility…extra prayers in the comment section.

Do you see how good God is to us? God has given us two very strong women, to help us through our times of great struggle. If you take the time to study the lives of these women, it was not easy, but God did bless them as He will also bless you. God has a special plan for your life, “seek and ye shall find, knock and the door will be open” Matthew 7:7. This is something that goes through my own heart many times a day, do not be troubled by the times of struggle there is a great purpose and mercy, God has a plan and it is good. Remain close to Our Lord in the sacraments of the Catholic Church and he will guide you as you seek Him.

O glorious St. Ann,
you are filled with compassion
for those who invoke you
and with love for those who suffer!
Heavily burdened with the weight of my troubles,
I cast myself at your feet and humbly beg of you
to take the present intention
which I recommend to you in your special care.

Please recommend it to your daughter,
the Blessed Virgin Mary, and place it before
the throne of Jesus, so that He may bring it
to a happy issue. Continue to intercede for me
until my request is granted. But, above all,
obtain for me the grace one day to see my God
face to face, and with you and Mary
and all the saints to praise and bless Him for all eternity.
Amen.

Our Father, . . . Hail Mary . . .

O Jesus, Holy Mary, St. Ann,

help me now and at the hour of my death.

Good St. Ann, intercede for me.

(especially under her title of Maria Bambina)
Hail, Infant Mary, full of grace,
the Lord is with thee,
blessed art thou forever,
and blessed are thy holy parents
Joachim and Ann,
of whom thou wast
miraculously born.
Mother of God, intercede for us.

Infertility Support

Dear Sisters and Brothers,

Praised Jesus for your faithfulness to Holy Mother Church! I’m so very happy that you found our blog site and I pray that you found it helpful. I agree that it can be very difficult to find like minded groups out in the world, but as a body of believers within the Catholic Church I know the Lord has something for each of us or He is calling us toward something that will bless us as we seek comfort we are also called to comfort, it all seems to be part of God’s holy plan.

As you are seeking answers about an Infertility Support Group, I would suggest that you take time and pray before our Lord in adoration and then ask your pastor for guidance and direction.

The Apostolate of Hannah’s Tears has been unfolding for many years we are available for intercession and we pray for all those who are in need with fertility issues. This ministry at this time is a contemplative ministry, my parish offers 4 Masses each season throughout the year for the intentions of Hannah’s Tears. We also provide a prayer box beneath the Infant of Prague and the Chaplet of Hannah’s Tears pamphlet. The Poor Clare Colettine Nuns in Wales have been great intercessors as well as the Mass that they have offered each year in honor of their patron St. Colette (this was our first year sending a list of people asking for prayers). Our other intercessors for Hannah’s Tears are Carmelite Sisters, and secular Carmelites as well as many lay people. The power of prayer does great things most especially in front of Our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament. Our ministry has not yet formed into a day with meetingts but we allow God to set up the meetings in the present moment weather that be on email, after Mass, or sitting down for a cup of tea. We are all called to be listeners and imitate Simon of Cyrene as he helped Christ carry His cross we are also called to help when we are called.

Hannah’s Tears is open to you helping us build our ministry of faith and hope but if you decide that you are seeking something more formal, please find below some resources that also may be of help to you as you seek God’s Holy will:

Here are items I find very helpful.

“Bearing the Unbearable: Coping with Infertility and Other Profound Suffering”
by Karl A Schultz (this is a positively beautiful book)

* “Begotten, Not Made” – Pastoral Care for Couples Experiencing Infertility
By Steve Bozza (couples manual and a pastors manual available)
These manuals bring understanding to what is in a couple’s heart, their sorrow, frustration hopes and dreams. It will provide a reflection on what is in the heart of the Church regarding human life and provide some practical counseling suggestions.

1654 Spouses to whom God has not granted children can nevertheless have a conjugal life full of meaning, in both human and Christian terms. Their marriage can radiate a fruitfulness of charity, of hospitality, and of sacrifice.

EWTN show on Infertility

I had the undeserved privilege of flying to EWTN to appear on Johnette Benkovic’s show, The Abundant Life. Although the show was taped in November, it will air next week. The president of the Catholic Medical Association and an author also appeared on the show with me, so you don’t have to endure listening to my voice the whole time! Ha ha ha.

The episode is called “Barren and Blessed: The Plight of Infertility” (Program #447) The Abundant Life airs on EWTN, the global Catholic Network. If you have satellite TV, you can watch it through your provider. If you don’t have satellite, you can catch the episode online live at http://www.ewtn.com/tv/index.asp Click on the “now showing” box on the right, ensuring that the “U.S.” tab is selected. Or, invade a friend’s house who has EWTN.

Monday February 2nd: 10:00 pm EST
Tuesday Feb. 3rd: 4:00 am EST (if you’re awake?!?!)
Wednesday Feb. 4th: 2:00pm EST
Friday Feb. 6th: 10:00am EST

The program was definitely a grace-filled experience. Infertility is a seldom-mentioned topic, so I hope the program reaches many women in the same plight. Let me know what you think of the show; I’m the one in a lavender blouse. 🙂

Profound Quotes from C.S. Lewis

Faith and Family Live (http://www.faithandfamilylive.com/) blogger Arwen Mosher endured infertility before giving birth to her daughter. She blogged extensively on her infertility journey and kindly sent me some of her posts to help me in my own struggle:

No one ever told me that grief felt so like fear.
Sometimes when the inception of a new cycle has informed me of the fruitlessness of the preceding one, grief will stop me for a moment. These moments are the emptiest I’ve experienced; I do nothing in them except shudder in tears. But it occurred to me at the last one – yesterday – that these moments are not sadness, they are fear. In my deepest grief I do not mourn the fruitlessness of my hopes for a child, I fear the fruitlessness of hope itself. This small thing, so longed-for, has not come, and for a moment I am frozen in fear that no things longed-for will ever come. My life is a constant longing for ultimate joy in God, and the tiny atheism that is the fear in those moments is enough violence to split my soul wide open. I know what Lewis means about grief feeling like fear; the grief of my unfulfilled hopes brings the fear that God does not love me. That is the only thing worth fearing, but also the one thing which my existence proves I need never fear.
