“In his tremendous suffering, Don Dolindo became more and more a child who lived his self-offering to the Divine Father. I am totally poor, a poor nothing. My strength is my prayer, my leader is the will of God which I let take me by the hand. My security over the uneven path is the heavenly mother Mary.

One of the treasures from the words which Jesus spoke to Dolindo was the teaching about total abandonment to God. In this novena, Jesus is talking to Don Dolindo and also to you.”

Live by the will of God… Here’s some words shared from the Poor Clare Colettines in England.

Place your mind before the mirror of eternity!
Place your soul in the brilliance of glory!
Place your heart in the figure of the divine substance!
And transform your whole being
into the image of the Godhead itself through contemplation!
So that you too may feel what His friends feel
as they taste the hidden sweetness
which God Himself has reserved
from the beginning
for those who love Him.-  Saint Clare

 

Dear Little hearts,

A blessed and happy Sunday to you all! Enjoy these beautiful summer days while we have them because all too soon Autumn will come.

Today is in addition to the duties pertaining to our various states of life when we take space for prayer and reflection when we try and focus upon Gods Word and think about how to apply it in our life.

This is particularly  important where the words of the Gospel are concerned.

I should ask myself when I read a specific Gospel how can I transfer these words into  the reality of my life, what are they asking of me?

Our Holy Mother Saint Clare was a woman of deep prayer but the foundation, the bedrock of her life was to ‘enflesh’ and live the Gospel of Christ.

So today take these words literally:

Place your mind before the mirror of eternity!

God, our Father, you fortified Your servant Elisabeth with admirable prudence and a profound interior life, so that she could bear witness to Christ before her husband and in the unbelieving world that surrounded her. You gave her great meekness, making her capable of accepting her sufferings as an agreeable prayer to you.


We thank you, Father, for the gifts that You gave her, for the example she has given to the women of today, and for the benefits obtained in our family through her intercession.


We confidently beseech you that through her intercession you grant us the grace of… (Ask for the grace desired.)


We also ask that, if it be Your will, the Church may recognize the holiness of Elisabeth’s life, for the glory of the Holy Trinity.


We ask this through Christ our Lod.

Amen.
