“We Must Have Hope”

Dear Little hearts,
Sometimes in life because of legitimate demands on our time, provided by our own specific vocations, i.e parenthood, family life, consecrated life, caring careers, it can be difficult to find the space and time to enter the ‘garden’.
We should be perfectly at peace about this, providing the reason is not on account of indifference or laziness, we have been offering to God in our daily life and vocation the most beautiful of all gifts — our own will and we have been adoring the Divine Will by doing his pleasure.
Nothing is better, more preferable or praiseworthy, than doing His will no matter how holy and good it may appear to us.  So, be at peace, enjoy the present moment to the full, at such times simply draw aside into the ‘inner garden’ of your soul and tell Jesus and Mary how much you love them. When all is said and done, that is what God is ever seeking and wants to possess, YOUR HEART, for he loves you so!

Lovingly,
A Poor Clare Colettine, TMD

Novena to Our Lady of Hope

I am the mother of fair love, and of fear, and of knowledge, and of holy hope.  In me is all grace of the way and of the truth; in me is all hope of life and of virtue.  Come to me all that desire me and be filled with my fruits (Sirach 24:24-26).  O Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of Grace, Hope of the world.  Hear us, your children, who cry to you.

Let Us Pray:  O God, who by the marvelous protection of the Blessed Virgin Mary has strengthened us firmly in hope, grant we beseech You, that by persevering in prayer at her admonition, we may obtain the favors we devoutly implore.  Through Christ Our Lord. Amen.

Prayer to Our Lady of Hope:  O Mary, my Mother, I kneel before you with heavy heart. The burden of my sins oppresses me.  The knowledge of my weakness discourages me.  I am beset by fears and temptations of every sort.  Yet I am so attached to the things of this world that instead of longing for Heaven I am filled with dread at the thought of death.  O Mother of Mercy, have pity on me in my distress.  You are all-powerful with your Divine Son.  He can refuse no request of your Immaculate Heart.  Show yourself a true Mother to me by being my advocate before His throne.   O Refuge of Sinners and Hope of the Hopeless, to whom shall I turn if not you?  Obtain for me, then, O Mother of Hope, the grace of true sorrow for my sins, the gift of perfect resignation to God’s Holy Will, and the courage to take up my cross and follow Jesus.  Beg of His Sacred Heart the special favor that I ask in this novena.

(Make your request.)

But above all I pray, O dearest Mother, that through your most powerful intercession my heart may be filled with Holy Hope, so that in life’s darkest hour I may never fail to trust in God my Savior, but by walking in the way of His commandments I may merit to be united with Him, and with you in the eternal joys of Heaven. Amen.

Mary, our Hope, have pity on us.
Hope of the Hopeless, pray for us.

The Seventh Sorrow-the laying in the tomb

The Seventh Sorrow

7. The burial of Jesus: “Now there was in the place where He was crucified, a garden; and in the garden a new sepulchre, wherein no man yet had been laid. There, therefore, because of the parasceve of the Jews, they laid Jesus, because the sepulchre was nigh at hand.” John XIX, 41-

Dear Little hearts,

And so we come to the seventh and last sorrow, the laying in the tomb. A mystery that we can all identify with, for in the midst of life death is always with us.

The Battle is over Christ is laid to rest, the seed is laid within the ground…

One of the greatest lessons to learn in life is the dichotomy often on many levels of the difference between appearances and reality. That applies equally to this mystery, “nothing is ever quite like what it seems”…. this appears to human eyes to be the end , but it is in reality just the beginning. It seems like failure and the end of all…. it is but the prelude to the greatest overture and drama of LIFE… the Resurrection.

Hope in God we shall praise him still, we can never trust our God enough, even though he may lead us in strange and painful ways. HE IS LORD !

Number 3.

“We look to the law of love, that is, at the heart of the Gospel, in those commandments first revealed in the old Covenant and endorsed by Christ in the new, in the Beatitudes and in the evangelical counsels that are all summed up in the new commandment that Jesus offers us on his last night on earth after he has given us his body and blood; love one another as I have loved you “.

When St Francis and other great saints wanted to know about God it was to the Gospel that they turned. It is in the Gospel that we find out how Jesus loves us, so it is to the Gospel we must turn to find out how we are to love as he loved us. ” God loved the world so much that he gave us his only Son” The Gospel way is the way of love , the way in which we find our true freedom and our true happiness.

In the Gospel we find the structures on which we can build our lives securely and we can learn how to relate to God and our neighbor.

It is in the Beatitudes that we find the recipe for life. Happiness is a deep desire that has been planted within each one of us by God himself and it is God alone that can fully fulfil this desire we have.

When we ponder and pray on the Beatitudes we come to see Jesus , his promises, his charity , and his loving face. “Blessed are the poor in spirit for theirs is the kingdom of heaven”.

We come in prayer into the presence of God who made us in love, to the one whom we can surrender ourselves with complete confidence, we can entrust to him all our deep longings, our joys and sorrows, and worries of each day. ” Blessed are the merciful for they shall be shown mercy”.

Praise God for his mercy towards us, how we yearn sometimes for mercy to be shown in our own lives and in our world, Come Holy Spirit enlighten me as I ponder and pray each day one of the beatitudes, let me know the joy of the Lord in my heart and share his peace with all I meet.

Amen!
