Live by the Will of God

Live by the will of God… Here’s some words shared from the Poor Clare Colettines in England.

Place your mind before the mirror of eternity!
Place your soul in the brilliance of glory!
Place your heart in the figure of the divine substance!
And transform your whole being
into the image of the Godhead itself through contemplation!
So that you too may feel what His friends feel
as they taste the hidden sweetness
which God Himself has reserved
from the beginning
for those who love Him.-  Saint Clare

Dear Little hearts,

A blessed and happy Sunday to you all! Enjoy these beautiful summer days while we have them because all too soon Autumn will come.

Today is in addition to the duties pertaining to our various states of life when we take space for prayer and reflection when we try and focus upon Gods Word and think about how to apply it in our life.

This is particularly  important where the words of the Gospel are concerned.

I should ask myself when I read a specific Gospel how can I transfer these words into  the reality of my life, what are they asking of me?

Our Holy Mother Saint Clare was a woman of deep prayer but the foundation, the bedrock of her life was to ‘enflesh’ and live the Gospel of Christ.

So today take these words literally:

Place your mind before the mirror of eternity!

Place your soul in the brilliance of glory!

Place your heart in the figure of the divine substance!

And transform your whole being
into the image of the Godhead itself through contemplation!

So that you too may feel what His friends feel as they taste the hidden sweetness
which God Himself has reserved
from the beginning for those who love Him.-  Saint Clare

The Third Sorrow The Loss of the Child Jesus for three days

The Third Sorrow

3. The loss of the Child Jesus in the temple: “And having fulfilled the days, when they returned, the Child Jesus remained in Jerusalem; and His parents knew it not. And thinking that he was in the company, they came a day’s journey, and sought him among their kinsfolk and acquaintance. And not finding Him, they returned into Jerusalem, seeking Him.” Luke II, 43-45.

Dear Little hearts,

LOSS is something we have all experienced and all understand, loss through bereavement, separation, sin…. the hearts response is always to want union, reunion with that which is parted. We can have this experience in prayer too, when all seems loss, empty and dark, but within it all and all these emotions, experiences is God.

But here we are talking about the loss of a child, what a searing pain that is for any parent, mother and father…. flesh of our flesh….. lost…immediately the human mind can create a million threatening situations that the child could potentially be in…. yes we understand loss.

And in recent years the tragic case of Madeleine McCann in which any one who reads the papers or uses internet technology, knows and knew about this disappearance. How much more did Mary, the Immaculate Heart of Mary, the purest and most perfect of mothers feel? And what a revelation it was at the end to find him in the Temple discoursing with the doctors! “Did you not know that I was in My Fathers house?”

Love Mary! She is loveable, faithful, constant. She will never let herself be outdone in love, but will ever remain supreme. If you are in danger, she will hasten to free you. If you are troubled, she will console you. If you are sick, she will bring you relief. If you are in need, she will help you. She does not look to see what kind of person you have been. She simply comes to a heart that wants to love her.

She comes quickly and opens her merciful heart to you, embraces you and consoles and serves you. – St. Gabriel of Our Lady of Sorrows
