A simple soul trying to follow the will of God through the teachings of the Catholic Church and praying for those God sends on the journey of life one day at a time. Called to be a companion a long the way of the Cross to pray and bring hope. God has blessed me through this journey as a lay Carmelite, also through the cross of secondary infertility, chronic illness and serving each beautiful soul the Good Shepherd sends to this ministry. As I continue to seek our Lord's holy will I find joy and healing through serving HIM and seeking HIM. How is everyone going? Let us know how you are and if there is anything that you need. We are hoping to compile a prayer list of names to place upon the altar at Holy Mass when we have our first Mass for Hannah’s Tears, offered on July 29th.

Please know that this is not just a Mass being said for the ministry itself, but all of you emailing and all those out there struggling with fertilty and losses. We just want you to know that you are being prayed for and you have someone that cares about how you are feeling right now. Masses Scheduled for the intentions of Hannah’s Tears

Dear Friends,
Below is a list of Masses, that will be scheduled for the intentions of The Apostolate of Hannah’s Tears and all those who have requested prayers. These Masses will be offered at St. Patrick Church, Columbus, Ohio, by the Dominican Fathers. If you are not able to attend the Masses at St. Patrick Church, please go to your local parish on these days and know that you will be in communion with the prayers being lifted on the altar of Our Lord.

Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus

In 1899 Pope Leo XIII approved this Litany of the Sacred Heart of Jesus for public use. This litany is actually a synthesis of several other litanies dating back to the 17th century. Father Croiset composed a litany in 1691 from which 17 invocations were used by Venerable Anne Madeleine Remuzat when she composed her litany in 1718 at Marseille. She joined an additional 10 invocations to those of Father Croiset, for a total of 27 invocations. Six more invocations written by Sister Madeleine Joly of Dijon in 1686 were added by the Sacred Congregation for Rites when it was approved for public use in 1899. This makes a total of 33 invocations, one for each year of life of our Lord Jesus Christ. A partial indulgence is attached to this litany. http://www.ewtn.com/devotionals/Litanies/sacred_heart.htm

Our Lady of Perpetual Help, prays for us when we reach out to her. She is our true Mother and each of YOU are the treasure of her heart as you are her adopted children by baptism.

Let us continue to remain ever close to our Heavenly Mother as she leads us to her only son. I know in the beauty of Spring we continue to question God’s holy will for our lives. That is a human condition… but let us remember that we must look to the Lord and always be thankful for the beautiful gift of life, He has given us to live in our very selves. Each of you are a treasure in His eyes…please remember this as you wake up each day, kneel down at the foot of your bed and give Our Lord thanks and praise, even if you find it difficult. Maybe you have suffered a loss…this is probably very difficult for you right now, but what you can do is gaze at Our Lord on the Crucifix and ask Him to help you through your time of great need.

When I have found it very difficult to pray, I take my Miraculous Medal and hold it and just pray simply “O Mary conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee and for those who do not have recourse to thee especially the enemies of the Church.” I also try to go before the Lord in His true presence at Holy Mass…this is very healing. Remember, God has a perfect plan for all of our lives, if we follow Him and take care of ourselves, with our bodies being the Temple of the Holy Spirit and also a living Tabernacle each time you receive Him in Holy Eucharist…You are that treasure. Remember to love yourselves as He also loves you.

Enjoy the Spring season and take those cool walks before the heat of summer begins.

St. Rita of Cascia, patron saint of infertility and hopeless cases

Prayers and Novena

We wanted to pass on that yesterday was the feast of St. Rita, she is the patron saint of infertility and hopeless cases… “Ignatius Press” has a movie about Saint Rita’s life, that you may be interested in. EWTN has had the movie on this week, we hope some of you were able to watch her life. May your weekend be filled with the Lord’s Hope and Joy!

Saint Rita of Cascia, 1381-1457
Saint Rita of Cascia was born in 1381, in a small Italian village, to elderly parents who had long prayed for a child. At fifteen, Rita wanted to enter the convent but her parents decided that she should marry. They chose a man who turned out to be a mean, violent and unfaithful husband. After eighteen years, her prayers, gentleness and goodness finally won his heart, and he apologized for the way he had treated her and he returned to God.  Shortly after his conversion, he was murdered. Although shocked and heart-broken, she forgave the murderers, and tried to make her two sons forgive them, too. Instead they were determined to avenge their father’s death. Rita prayed that they would die rather than commit murder. Both boys became seriously ill, and Rita nursed them lovingly. She was successful in persuading them to forgive, and to ask God’s forgiveness for themselves, before they died.  Now that she was alone, Rita tried to enter the convent in Cascia, however, a woman who had been married was not allowed to join. Rita did not give up, and eventually, an exception was made for her. In the convent, Rita was obedient, charitable and devoted to the crucified Jesus. She asked him to let her share some of his pain, and a thorn from his crown of thorns pierced her forehead and made a sore that never healed. It was so bad and foul-smelling that St. Rita had to stay away from the others. She happily suffered to show her love for Jesus. Saint Rita died on May 22, 1457, at seventy-six years of age. She is the patron saint of infertility, and of hopeless, or desperate, cases.
