We wanted to pass on that yesterday was the feast of St. Rita, she is the patron saint of infertility and hopeless cases… “Ignatius Press” has a movie about Saint Rita’s life, that you may be interested in. Saint Rita of Cascia, 1381-1457
Saint Rita of Cascia was born in 1381, in a small Italian village, to elderly parents who had long prayed for a child. At fifteen, Rita wanted to enter the convent but her parents decided that she should marry. They chose a man who turned out to be a mean, violent and unfaithful husband. After eighteen years, her prayers, gentleness and goodness finally won his heart, and he apologized for the way he had treated her and he returned to God. Shortly after his conversion, he was murdered. Although shocked and heart-broken, she forgave the murderers, and tried to make her two sons forgive them, too. Instead they were determined to avenge their father’s death. Rita prayed that they would die rather than commit murder. Both boys became seriously ill, and Rita nursed them lovingly. She was successful in persuading them to forgive, and to ask God’s forgiveness for themselves, before they died. Now that she was alone, Rita tried to enter the convent in Cascia, however, a woman who had been married was not allowed to join. Rita did not give up, and eventually, an exception was made for her. In the convent, Rita was obedient, charitable and devoted to the crucified Jesus. She asked him to let her share some of his pain, and a thorn from his crown of thorns pierced her forehead and made a sore that never healed. It was so bad and foul-smelling that St. Rita had to stay away from the others. She happily suffered to show her love for Jesus. Saint Rita died on May 22, 1457, at seventy-six years of age. She is the patron saint of infertility, and of hopeless, or desperate, cases.

Please don’t take insult to these words of care that I bring you but it is more important that if you and your fiance love each other, you should both be married before trying to conceive a new life. I understand that the world has made it okay to have children before marriage but as Christians this is a sin called fornication and we must choose to turn against this path of wrong and walk in the path of light and virtue for Jesus Christ and the beauty of following HIM.

Dear St. Rita, please pray for my husband and I. We met a little later in life. Two weeks before our wedding I began to have medical issues. I have spent the last year and a half visiting numerous doctors, using different medications and having several surgeries to preserve what little fertility I have left, only to be told my chances still aren’t great. Our faith in the Lord is far stronger than our faith in the doctors. Please, one healthy child is all we ask. I am an only child, so my mother only has one chance to be a grandmother. This is the best gift I could ever give her and my husband. I wish to experience pregnancy and motherhood more than anything. Thank you and Amen.

I am praying for a healthy pregnancy. I have had three misccarriages, the last a ruptured ectopic pregnancy that was very difficult. I am pregnant again now and very hopeful but also scared after what we have been through. Please give me courage and strength and keep this baby safe. Please also pray for my friend who has been trying unsuccesfully with her husband for several years to have their first child. She and her husband are wonderful people.

Blessed Saint Rita, I am pressed with a difficult decision to have an operation on my cervix that could increase my risk of infertility, miscarriage, and other complications with conception and carrying full term. As of now I do not have any children but desperately want them after my fiance and I are married. However, the procedure must come before we are prepared to fulfill the sacrament of marriage. Please give me the strength to get through this trial, the knowledge and clear mind to make the right decision for me and my future husband and the acceptance of God’s will. Please St Rita i have been diagnosed with endometriosis and have been suffering from this horrible condition for 5 years. After a year of surgeries and fertility treatments we are finally ready to accept God’s gift in my womb. My husband and i will love this child very much and we will raise it to know and love God. St. Rita, My husband and I both come from large families and never expected any hiccups in concieveing a child. Unfortunately we have come across some. Please pray that God will help us through our rough patch and bless us with a child soon. For the first 7 years of my marriage, I could not conceive. On the 7th year I spent in incessant prayer to Our Lord and Hail Mary s to Mother Mary. Hearing and responding to the prayers not one but two children were granted to me. Now they are grown and my daughter is experiencing a similar experience. As I pray for them, please, will you pray for them? I am so proud that they continue to turn to God during this difficult time and pray themselves that they are following the will of God. Having children outside of the marriage blessing is a very difficult walk, every couple (male/female) needs the commitment of the marriage sacrament and children are the fruit and blessing that can come forth, but not always promised. Hopefully you have witnessed in your life married couples within the Church that have raised families and have gone through struggles and still remain committed to a loving relationship. Truly it is a beautiful thing that you desire to bring forth the life of a child with your boyfriend, just know that marriage helps to solidify and strengthen this commitment that you have with Kenny.

Please all pray to St Rita that my husband and I will finally conceive a healthy child. We have been married 10 yrs and married late in life. We are now 45 and have always desperately wanted a child. I waited a long time praying to St anthony, St Jude, Blessed Mother, st Teresa. All those known for miracles. Finally at 41 my husband begged me to please let’s try IVF. I know it’s against our faith but I was so desperate. We tried a few times. It nothing. Last year I turned 44 and my husband begged me to try IUI. I finally gave in and we tried twice and yes nothing. I was told my eggs are now too old and my husband blames me for waiting to long because I kept telling him The Lord would send us a child and that the IVF and IUI were wrong. please all on here pray for us that The Lord and St Rita will prove me right and that The Lord will answer our prayers and send us a happy, healthy baby. My brother and his wife had twins via IUI. Why is The Lord punishing me.
