Job 12:7-10
7 “But ask the animals, and they will teach you,
or the birds in the sky, and they will tell you;
8 or speak to the earth, and it will teach you,
or let the fish in the sea inform you.
9 Which of all these does not know
that the hand of the Lord has done this?
10 In his hand is the life of every creature
and the breath of all mankind.
Dear Little hearts,
There is great wisdom in being obedient to Gods word, it will bear fruit. When we are exhorted in scripture to do something it is not enough just to read the words but somehow we have to apply it, see its place in our lives, no matter how obscure the text may be.
This is what I did yesterday after sending out these readings to you. I said OK Lord, let’s do this!!! So I asked the animals in prayer to teach me, and what do their lives and existence say?… That the heavenly Father is the great provider that he supplies his creatures needs, that he blesses them and his intention is that the species increase, unlike the human species which all too often and says no to bringing forth life. The animals can teach us much about how to rear and train the young, how to be good attentive parents.
The birds?? They are a song in the heavens and a song on earth, they tell us that we were created to be free, to enjoy the spaces God has given us… to fly in the Spirit and to rejoice in the uniqueness of the variety of our being and theirs.
The fish and creatures can also teach us much, they reveal to the abundance and variety, some are solo, but many see the value and strength of ‘community’ or working together, of being together for mutual protection, shoals of fish are a magnificent sight to behold and so and much more is the human family when it works together.
In the message version we read:
“Put your ear to the earth- learn the basics”….. this can say so many, many things, the importance and the place of the small, the minute in Gods plan, it reminds us that we are dust and to dust we shall return.
Thank you Gods Word, it is so humbling to see ourselves in this GREAT PICTURE and sermon of creation.
Job 12:7-12 The Message
7-12 “But ask the animals what they think—let them teach you;
let the birds tell you what’s going on.
Put your ear to the earth—learn the basics.
Listen—the fish in the ocean will tell you their stories.
Isn’t it clear that they all know and agree
that God is sovereign, that he holds all things in his hand—
Every living soul, yes,
every breathing creature?
