Magnify the Lord, O My Soul, Magnify my Lord!

The Magnificat.

Magnificat anima mea !!!

Dear Little hearts,

Let us sing and praise our God in the company of Mary, let us make the words of her Magnificat our own.

“ My soul magnifies the Lord and my spirit rejoices in God my Saviour”

My soul, with its faculties, of intellect, memory and will, it is these that make me uniquely, beautifully, human, and it is with these that I need to call upon my God and praise Him.

To magnify the Lord? We all know what a magnifying glass upon an object or word does, it enlarges, makes greater, magnifying something not only makes it clearer to myself but to others also.

So like Mary I want to magnify God in the eyes of the world.

When praying the Magnificat, I am praying deep within my being that my love, my praise will make God great…it will extol Him.. and draw others to his love.

I am praying that my reasoning mind, my intellect will serve him, praise him, by opening it to his presence and to his mighty works.

I am praying that my memory, will recall the  wonderful things God has  done for me, for his patience, for his enduring love.

And I am praying that my will will praise and glorify him by bringing it into total communion with his….
