Blessed Mary Fontanella

[Blessed Mary Fontanella]
One of twelve children. At age twelve she joined the Cistercians at Saluzza. Unfortunately, Mary’s father died soon after, and Mary had to return home to help with the family. Four years later, over the protests of her family, she joined the Carmelites in Turin, Italy. Visionary and mystic, she was the victim of numerous diabolical attacks. Novice mistress in 1691 at age 33. Prioress in 1694. Found a Carmelite monastery at Moncaglieri. Noted for her strong devotion to Saint Joseph.

To St. Joseph for Protection
“Gracious St. Joseph, protect me and my family from all evil as you did the Holy Family. Kindly keep us ever united in the love of Christ, ever fervent in the imitation of the virtue of our Blessed Lady, your sinless spouse, and always faithful in devotion to you. Amen” ~ From the Franciscan Mission Associates
